A group of persons, disguised as ghosts and pumpkins, approached bruyament. When they saw both creatures, they stopped all. The wind stopped blowing. Owls stopped hooting. Both creatures looked at the group of persons. Everything seemed motionless. Until a music endiablée demarre, until creatures begin walking, dancing. Half of the intruders left by running, the other one remained motionless. They observed this morbid dance..

They were astride hideous black chargers.. They seemed to fly, so much their running was majestic. Them two riders resplendisaient in these dark dresses. Far off, a piano seemed to accompany this furious running .. The moon, hidden by clouds, was hardly visible, returning the horribly black road. Every banging of clog was terrible...
